Our credibility is the whole product. Here are the standards we hold ourselves to — and how to hold us to them.

Independence

We don’t take a side for or against data centers, moratoria, or any company or candidate. Our job is to make the record legible — to show what was filed, decided, said, and scheduled — not to tell you what to think about it. No sponsor, advertiser, developer, utility, or official has any say over what enters the record or how it’s described.

Sourcing standards

• Every project, pause, hearing, and figure links to a primary public record or an identified news report.
• When we summarize a dense filing, we preserve its meaning and link the original so you can check us.
• Where sources disagree, we say so and show both.
• We label estimates, disclosed-vs-undisclosed figures, and anything still unconfirmed.

Corrections policy

Funding & the firewall

Sponsorship keeps the Tracker free. Sponsored slots are always visually labeled and separated from editorial content; sponsors receive aggregate audience numbers only, never reader data, and never a preview of or influence over coverage. We will decline or end any arrangement that threatens that wall. Details on Advertise.

Conflicts of interest

Our team does not hold positions in, or accept gifts from, the companies or campaigns we track. If a potential conflict ever touches a specific entry, we disclose it on that entry.

Use of AI

We use automated monitoring to flag new filings and AI to help summarize long documents and answer reader questions (“Ask Emmy”). AI never decides what is true or what enters the record — a person reviews and sources every item, and Emmy only responds from sourced material already published here, with links. We’ll always be upfront about where automation is involved.
